a. Not Applicable

b. Responses to Question #15 (What other coastal decision support tools (including models) would improve your planning practice/analysis/research?) are provided in the Raw Survey Response Matrix.

Table 5c lists 36 tools for which Arctic coastal region respondents were asked to rate importance for planning practice, analysis, and research. The five tools with the highest percentage of very high or high importance ratings from respondents are:

  1. Cumulative Impacts Model1 (75%);
  2. Hazards U.S. Multi-Hazard (HAZUS-MH) (75%);
  3. Hazard Assessment Template2 (65%);
  4. Digital Shoreline Analysis System3 (60%); and
  5. FUSION4 (60%).

The five tools with the highest percentage of low or very low importance or "Not Applicable" ratings from respondents are:

  1. Historical Hurricane Tracks IMS (65%);
  2. Electronic Navigational Chart Handler (55%);
  3. Practitioner's Toolkit for Marine Conservation Agreements (55%);
  4. Multi-Purpose Marine Cadastre (50%); and
  5. Nautical Chart Viewer (50%)

Endnotes

1. The Cumulative Impacts Model Provides estimates of human impacts on ocean ecosystems from a host of activities.

2. Hazard Assessment Template offers guidance on developing a website that addresses hazard-related data specific for your region.

3. Digital Shoreline Analysis System computes rate-of-change statistics from multiple historic shoreline positions.

4. FUSION assists users in viewing, analyzing, and processing lidar data sets.
