Table 5d lists 36 tools for which Atlantic Northeast coastal region respondents were asked to rate importance for planning practice, analysis, and research. The five tools with the highest percentage of very high or high importance ratings from respondents are:

  1. Impervious Surface Analysis Tool (71%);
  2. Coastal County Snapshots (58%);
  3. Landscape Fragmentation Tool (57%);
  4. Nonpoint-Source Pollution and Erosion Comparison Tool (57%); and
  5. Habitat Priority Planner1 (56%).


The five tools with the highest percentage of low or very low importance ratings from respondents are:

  1. Practitioner's Toolkit for Marine Conservation Agreements (39%);
  2. Electronic Navigational Chart Handler (36%);
  3. Nautical Chart Viewer (35%);
  4. Chart Reprojector2 (34%); and
  5. MarineMap (32%).


The tools with more than 25% of respondents rating the tool as "Not Applicable" are:

  1. Electronic Navigational Chart Handler (28%);
  2. Nautical Chart Viewer (28%);
  3. Benthic Terrain Modeler (26%); and
  4. Wave Exposure Model3 (26%).
