Call for Case StudiesWhat is your community doing in relation to energy and climate change issues? Send us what you are proud of! We'd like to see best practices, case studies, and any other examples of how you have incorporated energy and climate change into your planning documents and related publications. Please send information (documents or links to web-based materials) to: energy@planning.org. Specifically, we are seeking the following types of documents and published materials (examples in parentheses): - long-range visioning documents/blueprints/goals and objectives
- local plans (comprehensive, neighborhood, regional; housing, transportation, economic development; energy, climate change; water supply management)
- development management tools (zoning regulations, subdivision regulations, design guidelines)
- public investment tools (capital improvements program, general fund, financial revitalization tools)
- local policies
- built development projects that address the following energy topics:
- energy efficiency
- renewable energy
- solar access
- fair share siting of alternative energy facilities
- climate change
- greenhouse gas emissions/reduction
- VMT reduction strategies
- green building/LEED
- heat island reduction
- ozone reduction
- particulate matter reduction
- municipal energy strategies (clean fleets, efficient lighting, LED traffic signals, etc.)
- specific renewable energy sources or alternative technologies: passive solar, solar thermal, wind, geothermal, biomass, ethanol, biodiesel, hydropower, landfill methane gas recovery, cogeneration (or combined heat and power), and distributed generation
