The Center for Advanced Public Safety Research (CAPSR) CAPSR conducts research on new crime prevention methods and better ways to police communities, finding that "crime prevention" is much bigger than specific programs, and "policing" is larger than law enforcement agencies. The group calls its work "advanced public safety" research. In recent years CAPSR has explored safer ways to plan communities using action research. CAPSR is also a center for technical assistance and professional training. The website includes information on consultants in the areas of crime prevention through environmental design (CPTED), school safety, crime analysis/mapping, and problem-based learning. CAPSR publishes The CPTED Journal for the International CPTED Association, and is the national clearinghouse of the Police Society for Problem Based Learning. Click here to visit the CAPSR website. |
