Green Teacher: An Environmental Education Publication

January 2007

Green Teacher is a "magazine that helps youth educators enhance environmental and global education inside and outside of schools" (from the web site).

Issues are published quarterly, and each issue focuses on a pressing environmental topic. The Summer 2006 issue had articles on invasive species. Past issues have dealt with permaculture, the cost of the global food system, green mapmaking, development education, "remystifying" the city, biodiversity, creative problem solving, a sense of place, and a breadth of other topics. The city's role in the natural environment is covered in several issues.

At the time of writing, yearly subscriptions for the magazine, which is published in Canada, cost $28 for four issues.

On the web site you'll find much more information in addition to the magazine. Environmental education books are for sale, such as Greening School Grounds and Teaching about Climate Change. There is also an up-to-date Announcements, Events, and Workshops list.
