It hosts several interactive message areas and provides information about architecture and planning related mailing lists and Usenet newsgroups.



Kids Neighborhood Workshop, City of Rancho Cucamonga Planning Division

The Workshop teaches children how city planning works using the same skills and tools that professionals use. Using the City of Rancho Cucamonga, the site provides viewers with a local model for how children can explore a neighborhood, make goals and plans, and explain their ideas to others.

The web site of the Planning Commissioners Journal features information that would be of interest to teachers and older students exploring local and regional land use issues, including resources for citizen planners and a guide to studying the impacts of sprawl.



American Architectural Foundation (AAF)

AAF fosters public participation in the design process and promotes alliances between architects and their communities. The site contains AAF educational handouts and teaching materials; model curriculum that can be used for teaching the science of art, design, and architecture; an online newsletter for educators; information about grants and scholarships; online exhibits from the historic Octagon Museum, America's oldest museum devoted to architecture; and a link to the Mayor’s Institute on City Design.



Center for Understanding the Built Environment (CUBE)

CUBE connects educators, design and planning professionals, and activist citizens in carrying out community based education activities in the classroom. The site has an online a newsletter, “architivities,” workshop information, a catalogue of teaching resources, and curriculum units such as Box City and Walk Around the Block, all focused on educating and empowering young people to exercise stewardship for both built and natural environments.



Centre for Education in the Built Environment

Part of the UK Higher Education's Learning and Teaching Support Network, the Centre promotes high quality learning and teaching within the disciplines of architecture, planning, landscape, building, and surveying. The site includes built environment education news; forthcoming conferences and workshops; television and radio broadcasts; Internet links; and references for books, videos, and software for teaching and learning.



Chicago Architecture Foundation (CAF)

CAF advances the public's awareness and appreciation of Chicago's outstanding architectural legacy through a comprehensive program of tours, exhibitions, lectures, and special events. Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum

A Smithsonian institution museum based in New York city, this is the only museum in the country devoted exclusively to the study of historical and contemporary design. The site provides interactive online programs, online versions of past and current exhibitions, and information on local programs and workshops.



Archictecture in Education (AIE), Foundation for Architecture, Philadelphia

AIE teams teachers with architects, planners, and other design professionals to develop and carry out classroom learning activities, including neighborhood planning projects. The site includes excerpts from the program's compendium of lesson plans, indexed by grade level and subject area, information on workshops, and examples of classroom work.



National Association for Urban Studies (Places for People) or STREETWISE

Places for People is an international, inter-professional association based in the UK focusing on the urban environment, and promoting education to encourage people of all ages to have a voice in the future of the places in which they live, work and play. Streetwise is their quarterly journal that provides a forum for radical thinking on urban issues, policy development and education, and new ideas and examples of good practice in curriculum development and local environmental initiatives. The site provides information on subscribing to the journal.



National Building Museum (NBM)

Dedicated to exploring and celebrating architecture, design, engineering, construction, and urban planning, the site contains online versions of NBM exhibitions and its quarterly journal, Blueprints, and information on its tours, educational programs and workshops.



Built Environment Education (BEE), Royal Austrailian Institute of Architects Online

The BEE project develops curriculum resource materials for K -12 teachers and students and provides teacher workshops and special projects, such as Architects in Schools and the 'Your House' BEE kit. The site includes case studies of innovative teaching techniques, CTI Centre Journal–HABITAT, and other related learning and teaching projects.
