ViewFinders: Environmental Literacy Curriculum from the Dunn Foundation

December 2006

The Dunn Foundation's ViewFinders curriculum includes two exceptional placed-based educational programs.

ViewFinders
(Now out of print; but a photocopy version can be ordered for $25.00)

ViewFinders is an upper elementary curriculum that emphasizes the interdependence of the environment, community, and aesthetics. Through ViewFinders' eight hands-on activities, students are introduced to the concept of visual environment, learn the connections between the built and natural environments, find out how the visual environment can affect the economy, and learn ways in which they can positively change the visual environment around them.

ViewFinders Too
(Regular price: $80; promotional price now available: $65)

ViewFinders Too is tailored for middle school students. Some of the concepts incorporated into the curriculum include understanding visual pollution, investigating community appearance, exploring preferences, and community application (where students can use what they have learned in their own communities).
