Adopt-A-Watershed: Leadership, Education, and Action

Adopt-A-Watershed is a nonprofit that supports watershed restoration, watershed education, and other place-based environmental education programs.

Based in California, AAW guides communities, schools, or organizations through an effective five-step process that encourages leadership in place-based learning. The "5 Step," as it is called, is used to guide a project from inception to completion.

With AAW's guidance, schools and communities can take action to improve their local watershed while at the same time educating participants about the watershed and generating leaders for future projects. AAW has workshops, retreats, a Leadership Institute, and other opportunities to network and learn ideas for watershed improvement projects.
