Planet Neighborhood is an outstanding multimedia environmental project that highlights grassroots movements to help all of us live better, cleaner lives. At the heart of the project is three one-hour PBS programs recently shown on television nationwide in September, now on videocassettes. The series explores green technologies and sustainability initiatives affecting our homes, our jobs, and our communities across the country. Some of the topics include the horizontal axis washing machine, retrofitting older homes, the new green skyscraper for new York City, “sick building syndrome,” water purity, alternative power, and planning a green city.

A Teacher's guide, a CD-ROM and a Community Resource Guide are also available.
