Youth Organizing GuidebookRamona Mullahey January 2004 Urban Ed, Inc., has designed a tool for youth organizers entitled, The Hell with Status Quo! A Practical Guidebook on Youth Organizing. The 90-page guidebook captures lessons learned from around the country regarding how to more effectively integrate the youth voice into community and grassroots organizational decision making. These lessons were the results of a project of the Center for Community Change, funded by the W.K. Kellogg Foundation and the Ford Foundation. The guidebook is helpful not only for youth organizers, but also for people looking at ways to teach young people about social change and for those who want to learn more about the field of youth organizing. Topics covered include defining youth organizing, the why and how of youth organizing, benefits and obstacles of youth organizing, case studies, and tools for getting started.
