July 2007
The 2007 National Summit on Your City’s Families will take place Sept. 30-Oct. 2 in San Antonio. Held by the National League of Cities, the summit will be, according to NLC’s website, “the nation’s largest gathering of municipal officials and other local leaders who are working to improve the lives of children, youth, and families in their communities.”
Session focuses for this year will be: Building a World Class City, Adapting Innovative Strategies to Meet Your City’s Needs, and Tackling Emerging Challenges and Seizing New Opportunities.
The sessions will cover valuable and innovative ideas such as creating a youth master plan, building a citywide after-school program, and establishing a children’s budget and scorecard, to name just a few.
Site visits and a team-building session will supplement the three focus sessions.
