The Children and Nature Network

April 2008

If you want to hear news about kids programs in our National Parks, the No Child Left Inside Act, new research on links between outdoor activity and health, or a story about a farmer trying to reverse the trend of “joystick-wielding, video-watching mouse clickers [becoming] too disconnected from nature to care for it” (as a recent featured article from the Cedar Rapids Gazette put it), you may want to check out the Children and Nature Network.

Part of a grassroots movement to bring youth back to nature in the digital age, the C&NN is a nonprofit organization whose website is a clearinghouse for research, programs, initiatives, and legislation relating to kids connecting with the outdoor world.

Founded by Richard Louv, columnist and author of Last Child in the Woods: Saving Our Children From Nature-Deficit Disorder, the C&NN is a place to publish research, find practical advice, and look for networking opportunities with other local initiatives.

Visit the Children and Nature Network website today...and then go outside!
