Bio: Sustainability and Special Projects Administrator for the City of Denton, TX. Worked with the City for over 18 years on projects and items related to construction and renovation, energy efficiency, environmental preservation and education, and sustainability. She has overseen Denton’s Greenhouse Gas (GHG) inventories, facilitated the development of the City of Denton Sustainability Plan and begun the implementation phase of the plan as well as the tracking, measuring and reporting of initiatives that are being developed and/or are underway at the City. Managed the Clear Creek Natural Heritage Center (a 2800 acre nature center/preserve) for the last 9 years, has overseen construction of education facility and coordinated with Denton ISD to bring outdoor education to over eight thousand second, fourth and fifth grade students annually. She coordinates with UNT, TWU and NCTC to facilitate higher education research and education at the center and has also instituted a nature lecture series that is free to the public.

Bio: Ms. Peters is a planner with over seven years experience in developing sustainability, neighborhood, and smart growth management plans, energy master planning, and technical analysis and preparation of National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) or state NEPA-equivalent environmental documentation. She specializes in stakeholder facilitation to find integrated solutions that balance the built and natural environment. Her hands-on experience includes projects involving energy, transportation, solid waste, and climate change mitigation and adaptation planning. Her strengths lie in her ability to build public consensus and translate highly technical information into more easily understood terminology.
