Promoting Walking & Biking Through Prioritization: A New Tool

This poster explores a prioritization methodology developed as part of the National Cooperative for Highway Research Program and based on a survey of more than 400 agencies, several dozen interviews, and an extensive literature review of best practices. Adaptable to any community’s needs and capabilities, this methodology will help local, regional, and state agencies identify and assess pedestrian and bicycle deficiencies along existing roads—and set priorities for improving conditions.
