Bio: I research issues of environmental governance, with a particular focus on the tensions between different scales and levels of governance in land and water management. As a City and Regional Planning masters student I participate in research on intergovernmental cooperation towards shared service delivery in Upstate NY, as well as workshops to draft model zoning and comprehensive plans for small towns in the Southern Tier Region. My previous work experience includes serving as an Associate Researcher with the United Nations Barrier Monitoring Unit (BMU) in the West Bank, serving as a Wilderness Advocate with the Environment Oregon Research and Policy Center, as well as two years experience leading "backyard" urban stream restoration projects in the Portland, Oregon area. Funding for my current research is provided by the Clarence Stein Foundation.
