Ryan (MIT) I am looking at the historical usage and likely future of the urban plan as a document/medium. 2011-2012: Research assistant for Anne Whiston Spirn (MIT) I collected materials and interviews about the design of cities in harmony with nature, to update Professor Spirn's book, The Granite Garden. 2011: Intern, HB Lanarc (Vancouver, BC) I researched case studies of cities fostering vibrant urban placemaking based on activity "magnets" or subcultures. Activity parameters included retail, education, production, programming and urban design.
