Bio: Sailaja Kurella is a seasoned urban planner with 8+ years of public sector experience in land use, transportation policy, economic development, community development and climate change policy. She is currently a Regional Planner with the Association of Bay Area Governments (ABAG), the San Francisco Bay Area’s regional land use planning agency, where she is working to implement the region’s first Sustainable Communities Strategy -- a long-term plan to promote compact, mixed-use and transit-oriented development. Prior to joining ABAG, Sailaja worked for the New York City Economic Development Corporation helping accelerate community revitalization, job creation, and private investment in neighborhoods throughout the Bronx.

Bio: Director of Planning and Inspection for the City of Santa Clara, California since May 2005. Have worked for the City of Santa Clara since beginning as a Planning Intern in 1984 while completing my Masters degree. Have led a number of significant projects over the years for the City, including Intel headquarters building and campus, Kaiser Santa Clara Hopsital and Medical Center, Sun Microsystems/Oracle 1M square foot campus rehab/redevelopment of historcal Agnews State Hospital, Rivermark 200-acre mixed use community and San Francisco 49ers new Santa Clara Stadium.
