Mixed-Income, Mixed-Tenure Neighborhoods that Work
Date: Tuesday, April 16
Time: 10:30AM - 11:45AM
Providing a range of housing types in proximity to jobs, retail, and transit promotes social equity and long-term community resilience. While programs like HOPE VI, Moving to Opportunity, and Choice Neighborhoods have helped deconcentrate poverty, many communities hit by the “Great Recession” are struggling with neighborhood transition as foreclosed homes reenter the market as rental units. This session will highlight the most promising tools and strategies for promoting housing choice while ensuring neighborhood stability.
