In Spring 2010, the APA New York Metro Chapter launched its Youth in Planning (YIP) program to introduce middle- and high-school students to the field of urban planning. Since that time, YIP has grown into a yearlong college-exploration, after-school, credit-bearing initiative drawing students from across the city. During this session, program leaders will present a YIP lesson and share program tools to help other planners envision similar programs in their communities.
