Bio: Tom Maguire is Assistant Commissioner in New York City DOT’s Division of Traffic and Planning, where he oversees the agency’s Bus Rapid Transit, Freight Mobility, Peak Rate Parking (PARK Smart), and MPO/Grants Administration programs. He has been working on road pricing and parking pricing for DOT since he led the effort to implement congestion pricing in Manhattan in 2007-2008, and he is leading the agency’s effort to develop Drive Smart, a unique approach to improving travel choices and driving behavior through information feedback. In his time at DOT, he has managed the transportation elements of the City's 2007 PlaNYC strategic plan and its 2011 update, and represented DOT on the city's Climate Change Adaptation Task Force, which is helping make the city more resilient in the wake of Hurricane Sandy. He has also overseen the development of innovative analysis tools like the Taxi GPS database. Prior to joining DOT, he worked at the engineering and design firm Arup.

Bio: I wrote the CMAP report "Parking Strategies to Support Livable Communities," co-authored CMAP's Parking Management Strategy Report and am currently working with municipal planners to address parking problems in their communities, as part of CMAP's Local Technical Assistance program, funded by HUD's Sustainable Communities Initiative. I also manage the Case Study Library and serve as the CMAP representative on the Kane County Transit Committee, Pace Bus' Transit Guidelines Advisory Committee, RTA's Transit Guidelines Committee, the CEED@Chicago Data Subcommittee, and the Chicago Food Policy Advisory Council's Compost Working Group.
