Bio: Tim is currently the Director of Planning and Policy for Friends of the Parks where he coordinates the organization's policy positions, strategies and initiatives regarding the development of parks in Chicago. This work involves the management of several large-scale advocacy efforts, including the Last Four Miles and Friends of the Lakefront Trail initiatives, but also leading research on the policies and mechanisms that fund park development in the City of Chicago. Prior to this, Tim worked as an Associate Planner at the Active Transportation Alliance where he helped develop regional and municipal bikeway plans in suburban Cook County. Once upon a time Tim also served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Romania – an experience so broad that it cannot be contained by a blurb of a bio.
Education: Masters of Urban Planning and Policy - University of Illinois, Chicago. Bachelor of Arts in History and Secondary Education - Creighton University.
Bio: Marissa Dolin works as the Transportation Planner for Active Transportation Alliance, the largest bicycle and pedestrian advocacy organization in the United States. Over the last 3 years she has lead more than a dozen plans and studies at every level of government from working with block clubs to create hyper-local action plans to suburban municipalities to regional plans. Her work has promotes active transportation in communities throughout the Chicago region, and she is now seeing many of the communities she worked with begin implementation. Marissa’s previous experience includes working as a planner in suburban Seattle, at a regional planning agency in rural Wisconsin, and as a researcher in an affordable housing and demographics.
