Bio: Christine Slattery is Director of Planning & Development for the Cook County Forest Preserve District. She was formerly a senior director at the Delta Institute, a Chicago-based nonprofit environmental organization, and director of the Chicago office of the Trust for Public Land, a national land conservation organization, where she oversaw land acquisition for urban parks and trails in the Chicago area. She also served as deputy commissioner in the City of Chicago’s Department of Planning & Development and represented local governments as a land use attorney.
Education: B.A. in Economics and Urban Studies, Mount Holyoke College; Masters in Regional Planning/J.D., Univ. of North Carolina-Chapel Hill
Other Publications: As Director of Planning & Development for the Forest Preserve District of Cook County, Chris oversaw the development of several master plans: * Land Acquisition Plan (Oct. 2012) * Camp Master Plan (Dec. 2013) * Recreation Master Plan (release expected in March 2013)
Past Assignments: Chris was a frequent speaker on the green economy in the Chicago region in her prior role as Senior Director for the Delta Institute.
