This is a big week for planners passionate about making our streets safer for people walking, driving, but especially, biking. This post marks two occasions – Infrastructure Week and Bike to Work Week – two efforts that underscore for elected officials at every level of government the importance of putting the country’s infrastructure needs first.
Join APA all week in celebrating and highlighting the qualities of our streets that make bicycling easy and those that make it a challenge. Take a picture of the features (protected bike lanes, bike racks) that support biking as an alternative to driving and those that discourage it. Share your pictures on Twitter with @APAadvocates through Friday.

In each tweet, remember to include the official Infrastructure Week hashtag, #InfrastructureMatters; mention @APAadvocates; and include a picture. Consider mentioning the official Bike to Work Week hashtag #BiketoWorkWeek in your tweets as well –space permitting. Our goal is to participate in a conversation. The more interactive you are with your tweet, the better.
