2017 Transportation Planning Excellence Awards Announced

Fourteen organizations are recipients of the 2017 Transportation Planning Excellence Awards, presented biennially by the Federal Highway Administration and the American Planning Association.

The awards recognize outstanding transportation planning projects and practices performed by planners and community leaders across the country. The Best of the Best Award is the top award across all categories.  Congratulations to all the winners.

San Diego Association of Governments (SANDAG)

San Diego Forward serves as a blueprint for how the San Diego region will grow in the 21st century. It further outlines how SANDAG will invest in transportation infrastructure to provide more choices for residents while strengthening and supporting thriving communities. The Regional Plan, including a Sustainable Communities Strategy, is built on an integrated set of public policies, strategies and investments of more than $200 billion in the next three and a half decades. SANDAG’s goal is to maintain, manage and improve the transportation system so it meets the needs of the San Diego region through 2050.
