The 2018 National Planning Conference in New Orleans will be the year’s premier planning event. Want to move to the forefront of planning? Attend NPC18 and pack learning, sharing, connecting, and fun into four exciting days.
NPC18's robust educational program covers emerging issues, new trends, and best practices in planning. Here’s what you’ll experience in New Orleans.
Increased Diversity of Topics and Speakers
You asked, we listened. For the first time, every session at NPC18 has undergone a rigorous peer review process to ensure that sessions chosen for NPC18 reflect innovation and diversity in planning research, practice, education, and professional development.
This means you’ll see a consistent level of quality presentations, an array of topics and speakers, and the most relevant real-world content.
Session topics and speakers have been thoroughly vetted by planners like you who volunteered their time in the summer and fall of 2017.
Expanded Networking Opportunities
Another you asked, we listened. Networking opportunities at NPC18 are wider than ever, allowing attendees to network more frequently throughout the conference.
NPC18 features more time between educational sessions. Did a conversation during a workshop spark a connection? Now you have time to continue the conversation without missing out on your next session.
More activities and breakouts than ever before will happen in the interactive and busy Exhibit Hall, in addition to dedicated networking breaks throughout the day.
And the always popular Welcome Reception is back! Make new connections and reconnect with old colleagues on Saturday night at the renowned National World War II Museum in downtown New Orleans.
All Sessions are on Track
New this year: All conference sessions belong to one of 12 conference tracks. A conference within a conference, each NPC18 track is a carefully curated selection of sessions and activities focused on an important current or emerging issue.
Conference tracks have also been simplified, so you’ll be able to find your preferred content more easily. Track topics are high level, so that nothing is forced into a track where it does not belong. Also, by putting each session into a corresponding track, the program content encompasses a fuller range of topics while ensuring diversity in sessions — you will not be disappointed.
Finally, tracks mean NPC18 will deliver the sessions planners like you have been looking for. The five most-requested topics in the NPC17 Attendee Survey are now tracks for NPC18.
