EcoAdapt works to create a robust future in the face of climate change. In order to achieve this goal and promote the health and well-being of the planet and its residents, we believe that all decisions related to natural and human system conservation and development should consider and plan for the implications of climate change. Otherwise our actions will not garner the results we desire, as they will very likely be undermined by change. To address climate change and its impacts, EcoAdapt also made a commitment to facilitate connections, to provide space for sharing knowledge and lessons learned, and to host a centrally located gathering of the climate adaptation community so that every sector developing and implementing climate adaptation actions can learn from each other- the result is the National Adaptation Forum. The National Adaptation Forum’s mission is to gather the adaptation community to foster knowledge exchange, innovation and mutual support for a better tomorrow. Since 2013, EcoAdapt has organized the National Adaptation Forum (Forum) to provide an in-person opportunity to collectively solve the challenges of climate change, innovate adaptation ideas, and share experiences. The Forum facilitates cross-societal exchange and collaboration between representatives of government agencies, community groups, businesses, academia and research institutions to help reduce the effects of climate change through applied adaptation measures. It strives to continually attract new and unique voices to the climate conversation knowing that as the nation is constantly adapting to a changing climate, solutions must address the needs of all members of society.
