Georgia Department of Community Affairs
Atlanta, GA, United States
The Georgia Department of Community Affairs (DCA) has been an advocate for our state’s communities since its creation in 1977. Through technical assistance, DCA has helps local governments create quality communities by spurring private job creation, implementing comprehensive plans, developing downtowns, generating affordable housing solutions and promoting volunteerism. DCA's Office of Planning partners with local governments and authorities, regional commissions, and other state agencies on a variety of planning, land use and environmental programs. Our planning staff can provide hands-on assistance to address issues specifically identified in local comprehensive plans, and offer appropriate tools to achieve a community vision. We promote responsible development, a healthy environment and a high quality of life in each of Georgia’s communities by helping them implement measures to achieve current goals without compromising the needs of future generations.
