I liked this because it was grounded and practical.

Hats off to Ohio APA for making this course available on their YouTube channel! It's difficult to find free opportunities that meet the Ethics requirement, so I appreciate this on-demand session. The examples were fascinating and I enjoyed the conversation.

Always a good refresher

The session was excellent. I also viewed the previous session from the 2021 series which was also excellent.

Jason Duff really knew what he was doing, how to present, how to entice. This was magnificent for a planning keynote. I can't wait to visit Bellefontaine (though its on an already lengthy list of "cities to visit").

Credit to a few of the presenters on this who seemed game and prepared, but one of them (Mary) was really unprepared and a few times, my heart sank as she didn't seem to grasp the structure. For me, this undermined the quality and effectiveness of this training. Very disappointing; wish there had been a better CM training opportunity. The "Daytime TV" connection sounded like a fun conceit but

I like the focus on the underlying assumptions including that single-family housing is the highest best use and that parking requirements are generated by the focus on large-scale, big-box retail rather than a mixture of business types. It was very helpful in understanding the root cause of some of our equity issues. It was also a good overview of resilience too.

A very interesting approach to present "Ethics" training. As it was a TV show. Funny and informative.

It might be helpful for the panelists to run through the scenarios before going live.

It was interesting to have the ethics issues presented in this format, and I think the application of ethics principles to scenarios is helpful - especially since some of the situations are common!

I liked the concept but I think it wasn't pulled off well. One of the panelist seemed to be quite confused about what was going on not sure when they were playing their part in the scenario and when they were to be talking about their real life job. I hope they can refine this, practice it, and pull it off much better as I feel that would be very educational and enjoyable.

I always enjoy the Ethics sessions because they are interesting scenarios that could happen to any planner, but APA also likes to make it entertaining with role plays. The case that resonated most for me this year was the one where the city planner did not recommend a consultant. We are required to give a list of people who have done work for the city without commentary, even if certain consultants have complete and excellent work with little need for revisions, and other consultants needed so many revisions that it must have been very expensive for their clients (but the consultant likely blamed the city). It was a good reminder to watch words related to consultants. The scenarios are always interesting!

Mr. Phillips always does an outstanding job of presenting case law in an interesting and retainable manner.

Even though I've been working in the Miami Valley for more than 4 years, I didn't know the full history nor the extent of the Miami Conservancy District infrastructure.

The speakers did a great job making an ethics session very entertaining!

I appreciate their effort at bringing some levity and humor to situations that can be tense or difficult. It's very important that ethics be drilled into the minds of all planners, whether or not they are AICP. Maybe courses like this should be an annual requirement of all APA membership?
