Request for Proposals
Form Based Code Technical Assistance
Project for Public Spaces
Submittal Deadline: 05/24/2013
In the fall of 2011, Project for Public Spaces (PPS) was awarded a grant by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Office of Sustainability under their Building Blocks for Sustainable Communities Program, in conjunction with PPS’s Livability Solutions partners.
The Building Blocks for Sustainable Communities program provides quick, targeted technical assistance to selected local and/or tribal governments using a variety of tools that have demonstrated results and widespread application. The purpose of delivering these tools is to stimulate a discussion about growth and development and to strengthen local capacity to implement sustainable development approaches.
Project for Public Spaces (PPS) seeks proposals from qualified planning, architecture, and urban design vendors with strong community planning skills to assist in two separate Building Blocks projects to catalyze and direct the future of Form Based Codes (FBCs) in Omaha, Nebraska and in Duncan, South Carolina. Each project will consist of a two day site visit (including at minimum a public workshop and stakeholder interviews) and a technical memo.
Respondents may choose to pursue both the Omaha and Duncan projects or just one of them; however, each RFP should be responded to individually.
The deadline for submissions is Friday May, 24th.
