Louisville Metro Government Public Works & Assets is accepting sealed proposals from qualified firms to provide consulting services for a Strategic Multimodal Transportation Plan.

Project Purpose:
The mobility strategy as identified within Cornerstone 2020 Comprehensive Plan included strategies to create more accessibility between places where people live, work, shop and enjoy leisure time, as well as to provide for non-automotive travel. This effort is a development of goals, objectives and strategies toward implementation of the Cornerstone 2020 vision, recognizing the importance of “moving people.”

The result is a Strategic Multimodal Transportation Plan (SMTP) for Louisville Metro that:
• Integrates safety and security of all users;
• Facilitates livability and environmental stewardship;
• Preserves transportation assets;
• Encourages economic growth through improved mobility; and
• Develops community based performance measures and prioritizes improvement strategies.

The SMTP is a multimodal transportation plan initiated by Louisville Metro and the Transit Authority of River City, with support from the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, Kentuckiana Regional Planning and Development Agency (KIPDA) and interested stakeholders, to understand and address the current and future transportation needs within Louisville Metro.
