Adaptive Building Reuse Program Consultant
City of Chandler, AZ
Submittal Deadline: 09/26/2013
Chandler is Arizona's fourth largest City and has experienced explosive growth over the last decade. However, we also just celebrated our centennial and are facing the realities of aging. Our challenge is not unique in that our traditional suburban zoning and building codes are limiting the creative reuse of our existing building stock. This is especially problematic in our redevelopment area as we begin to transition in to a more urban condition.
The City is seeking a consultant who can quickly come up to speed on our existing tools and make recommendations for improving them. Ultimately, the City needs a program it can implement to move us toward a more flexible approach to our older buildings, while maintaining safety and improving aesthetics. Experience developing similar programs in a diverse environment will be highly valued, so please bring your examples of success from other places. We are opening this opportunity nationally so that we can get great advice, and possibly even some real-life lessons learned.
You will need to register with the State of Arizona procurement system as all municipal procurements are managed through this database. You can find the link by visiting www.chandleraz.gov/downtown and clicking on the RFI button, and following the instructions.
The RFP closes September 26th at 2pm.
