The Adams County Office of Planning and Development is seeking proposals from qualified professionals to prepare an Economic Impact Assessment on the Historic South Mountain Fruitbelt in Adams County, Pennsylvania.

The Adams County Commissioners, the Adams County Office of Planning and Development, the Penn State Extension of Adams County, and the Adams County Fruit Growers Association are partnering on an effort to conduct a study that will quantify the overall economic contributions of the fruit industry in Adams County. Adams County is comprised of over 526 square miles of diverse topography, which includes the foothills of South Mountain where the productive Fruit Belt is located.

The intent of this study is to establish the value of the Fruit Belt and related industries that can be used by the local business community, economic development agencies, decision makers, and local citizens to generate support and enhance compatible economic development opportunities.
