On behalf of its partners, the Cedar Rapids Medical Self-Supported Municipal Improvement District (Medical SSMID) of Cedar Rapids, IA is issuing a Request for Proposal (RFP) from local and national firms interested in performing professional services related to the development of a Medical District Master Development Plan for the Regional Medical District, also known as the MedQuarter. A multi-disciplinary design team is sought to develop a bold and action-oriented plan that will help establish the MedQuarter as a nationally recognized medical destination.

Firms seeking to participate in the selection process must submit hard copies and electronic versions of their proposal by 5:00pm CST on Wednesday, December 19, 2012. View the full MedQuarter RFP at which includes information about process, timeline and eligibility.

The Medical District was established in 2011. It was the result of Vision Cedar Rapids 2007 and the 2009 Neighborhood Planning Process, which developed districts to grow Downtown Cedar Rapids. A Medical District is a revitalization partnership committed to promoting a dynamic urban medical community to improve the quality of life, advocate for new business and jobs in the MedQuarter.
