Participants will learn ways they can use trails to benefit their community. Discussions will cover national trends, and case studies of towns and cities taking advantage of trails. Trail connectivity can give access to many areas typically only accessible by vehicle, promote enjoyment of the outdoors and the leading of an active, healthy lifestyle, while providing a conduit through which a community can showcase its assets. As a result of this presentation, listeners should begin to think of how they might use existing trails or build new ones to benefit their own community, as well as being provided with the tools for carrying the concept of a trail through to creation.
