Three hurricanes (Charley, Frances, Jeanne) moved across Florida in 2004 resulting in devastating to catastrophic impacts. Their journey will be examined in the context of the forecasts and warning services provided during 2004 versus the improvements to forecast services and hazard message communication available only ten years later. National Weather Service and local emergency management perspectives, experiences and lessons learned will be discussed.
