Overview

Ten years ago, Charley, Frances, Ivan and Jeanne changed the way Floridians reacted to hurricanes. From storm forecasting to insurance reform, from major evacuations to evacuation fatigue – this unprecedented storm season also made emergency managers rethink the way they viewed hurricane risk. At this workshop emergency managers who experienced these storms will share their thoughts on how these storms shaped the way we prepare for hurricanes and what future challenges remain in assuring the safety of Floridians and their property.
