Topic: The Connection between Health and the Built Environment The connection between urban form, development patterns and public health is increasingly well documented. During this lunchtime keynote address, land use strategist, developer, and professor Christopher Leinberger will discuss how better planning and urban development can lead to improved health outcomes. He will focus on his work creating and promoting what he calls “walkable urban places” as well as his work consulting with health insurance providers and hospital systems on the connection between health and the built environment.
