Learn how the challenges of aging infrastructure have created opportunity to enhance and green the public realm. Explore how three post-industrial cities have used green stormwater infrastructure to form public/private partnerships; leverage funding; and create new parks, playgrounds, trails, urban gardens, and other public spaces. Learning Objectives - Understand the physical and financial synergies that can exist between stormwater management and public spaces. - Understand the professional and institutional partnerships that can engage the community. - Explore the challenges to successful project implementation and stewardship and techniques to overcome those challenges. - Understand the role green infrastructure plays in redefining the image of a city.
