SWA Group’s Post-Occupancy Initiative reviews and analyzes more than 55 years of built projects to cultivate internal knowledge and enrich the firm’s continuing project work. This session shares SWA’s processes and lessons learned. In private practice, post-occupancy is a new phase of work that provides data and supports lasting relationships. Learning Objectives - Identify the role of Post Occupancy Analysis (POA) in contemporary practice. - Discuss the benefits of POA as a tool to improve practice, including performance, maintenance, and social considerations/ - Discuss the challenges - logistically, morally, and legally - regarding the collection of this data. - Share the different research methodologies & related project typologies employed at SWA and share SWA’s strategy for cradle-to-cradle integration into future project work.
