Overview

Designers can achieve living systems integration and healthy nutrient cycles for site and structure through collaborative, circular, and value-driven design. Speakers examine multiple projects, from factory design to island food systems, to discuss opportunities for integrating nutrient and water recovery, food production, and upcycling at a variety of scales. Learning Objectives - Participants can learn approaches for collaborating with architects and other specialists to achieve living systems integration. - Participants can learn how food production can be integrated into site and building designs and strategies in a variety of conditions. - Participants will understand the benefits and opportunities of cost effective integrated water resource and nutrient recovery methods and systems, as well as the relationship between water and nutrients. - Participants will be able to interpret baseline analyses for sizing and designing integrated nutrient and water recovery systems.
