Take-Away: This session will identify what a group of local

community representatives, elected officials, Air Force

installation leaders and business leaders have done over

the last year to combine efforts as the Air Force adapts to a

changing economy and region.

Description: Air Force Community Partnership (AFCP)

Program is public-private partnership of over 75 volunteers

including local community representatives, elected officials,

AF installation leaders and business leaders. The partnership

was formed to help leverage military installation and the local

community’s capabilities and resources to obtain value and

benefit in support of the AF mission. As the Air Force adapts

to reduced budgets and fiscal challenges, the partnership is

tasked with identifying potential partnership concepts and

key stakeholders to find mutually beneficial solutions for the

community as well as the Davis-Monthan Air Force Base.

The session will also explore Pima County’s efforts to partner with Davis-Monthan and protect its status as a major employer and economic driver in the Tucson metropolitan region.  Additionally, Bruce Larson will give a perspective on Luke Air Force Base’s similar efforts and its relationship with the Phoenix west valley.

Moderator: Kelly Lee and Mike Grassinger, Planner & Principal &

Public-Private Partnership Committee Member

Presenters: Rodger G. Schuld, Col. USAF Commander,

Davis-Montham Air Force Base Commander, Mission Support Group; John Moffatt, Director, Strategic
