Overview

The Kenai Peninsula Borough uses a multi-agency permitting process to streamline projects. This session discusses the multi-agency approach used by the River Center for project scoping, inspecting, permitting, and managing compliance issues.

The Borough recognized the importance of Anadromous Streams and created a 50-foot Habitat Protection District to regulate development in an effort to maintain, restore, and protect that valuable habitat area within waterbodies in the KPB.

The FEMA NFIP regulations along anadromous streams and regulated floodplain and how these two separate borough programs work together at the River Center
