Overview

A workshop aimed at planners who create, use and/or evaluate public notices and outreach materials though they may not have a formal graphic design training background. Participants will (1) review types of materials used in public outreach efforts and assess which pieces are most effective in particular situations, (2) review basic design principles and identify use (and misuse!) of design as a way of communication, (3) understand tools for creating materials, and (4) engage in a design exercise and be given a take-away cheat sheet with tips learned in the session.
