Overview

This session explores the Ravens Roost cohousing project; the first cohousing neighborhood in Anchorage.  This session will cover the relatively new- to- the- US type of community developed housing and the particular challenges encountered in Alaska.

 

This session will bring new information on what cohousing is, the benefits and challenges it offers and how cohousing is being successfully developed on a project here in Anchorage. Topics to be discussed include architectural aspects of cohousing that make it different from typically developed housing, sustainability aspects, physical attributes, and the development process
