Part one of the event will include a discussion of adaptive reuse and its effects on the community revitalization of Green Cove Springs. The Planning Director will provide a narrated walking tour of historic downtown as well as the comprehensive plan policies and procedures that targeted redevelopment in the City. A visit to the Northeast Florida Military Museum will include an overview of the decomissioned Naval Air Station Green Cove Springs and how it has been redeveloped and its current uses. A visit to Alternative Energy Technologies will provide discussion on this emerging trend and use now locating in rural towns and cities across the country. Finally, a visit to Spring Park Coffee, a local coffee shop and coffee roaster will provide insight on local business development and redevelopment incentives.
