Overview

Course Description: The advent of ride-sharing and home-sharing services like Uber, Lyft and Airbnb are affecting cities in a variety of ways from loss of control to loss of sales taxes. What should we expect, and what should we plan for?
The Takeaway: Students will hear how local agencies are trying to work with new technologies, or in some cases, work against them. Advances that are not yet in the marketplace will be featured, like shared or driverless cars. The operating systems - or infrastructure - for these technologies are personalwireless devices and the communications industry will be featured.
