This session is a deep look at a number of sustainability and planning programs that the FAA, working with airports and consultants, have been standing up or are continuing work on.  Section 512 of the most recent FAA Reauthorization made a number of energy efficiency programs, including energy assessments, eligible for federal funding.  Solar guidance was also a part of that bill and updates will be provided on both programs.  The FAA has also updated a number of guidance documents on various areas of the airports; the FAA advisory circular on airport terminal has not been updated in more than ten years and the responsible parties are beginning a major overhaul.  The final three bullet points are also areas where new guidance has been developed and the FAA provided updates on the effects they are expected to cause on the industry.
