Overview

This two hour bike tour will take participants to three projects of the Sustainable Sites Initiative. The tour will focus on the planning for, and implementation of critical planting techniques involving soils and vegetation. At Bartholdi Park, Brent Elementary School and Washington Canal Park, participants will hear from designers about urban forestry practices and discover first-hand the development of these urban public spaces designed based on the US Green Building Council Institute’s Sustainable Sites Rating System (SITES). SITES is a result of leading professionals in the fields of soil, water, vegetation, materials and human health.
