Overview

No one said it would be easy!  In 2009, the State of Hawai'i passed a law requiring all Counties and the DOT to adopt a Complete Streets policy.  Today, the real challenge lies in moving from policy to implementation.  Three Complete Streets leaders will discuss the innovative projects transforming how Hawai'i travels and the challenges facing the Complete Streets movement from their perspectives working for government, private consulting, and advocacy.   Projects such as the Complete Streets design manuals, the Hilo Multimodal Plan, the Honolulu protected bicycle lane network, and advocacy challenges will be discussed.
