Overview

Description: Planning and real estate development are intrinsically linked. It is, therefore, critical for planners to understand the fundamentals of the real estate market and what metrics developers rely on for their pro formas. This is particularly important when public resources are requested to support a proposed development. This session will present basic market and valuation fundamentals and project examples. It will conclude with an exercise aimed at giving planners tools to quickly understand and evaluate the numbers behind the deals.
